Gojek is set to temporarily increase trip start fares in Singapore by March 31 due to climbing operating costs and fluctuating fuel prices in the city-state.

The Indonesian ride-hailer will implement hikes of S$0.50 (US$0.37) for GoCar trips and S$0.80 (US$0.59) for GoCar Premium and GoCar XL trips for two months. It will also implement a flat “driver fee” of S$0.50 (US$0.37) within the same timeframe to help driver partners offset the oil price hikes.
The move adds on to Gojek’s existing incentives and measures aimed at supporting driver partners launched last year. These include a reduction in service fees to 10% – at least until the end of the year – and enhanced far trip incentives, among others.
Gojek also said it has kept its ongoing promotion – which gives users a 50% off capped at S$5 (US$3.69) vouchers for five rides at specific times – in effect to help consumers offset the increased fare.
