EA, Microsoft, Sony, Crytek, Blizzard, and more all to exhibit at ChinaJoy

ChinaJoy, China’s biggest games conference, will be taking place at the end of this month, and as a result, we’re finally starting to learn exactly who’s going to be there. The conference’s massive floor layout has been announced, and among all the expected Chinese developers with booths, quite a few foreign companies will be showing off their wares.

Crytek has an exhibit in the massive N1 hall, but since the area is meant for B2B (business-to-business) exhibits, it may not be that interesting to regular gamers. There will be more fun to be had in the B2C (business-to-consumer) areas: Blizzard and its local partner Netease will have a large exhibition area in the N3 hall, and EA will have games on show in N4.

Microsoft and Sony will be exhibiting in the E7 hall as part of a new area of the conference dedicated to next-gen console gaming. Interestingly, the console area also features several Chinese developers that previously haven’t worked on console titles, including Tencent, Sina Games, and The9. ChinaJoy may be the first time gamers can put their hands on some of China’s first real console games.

Needless to say, of course, all of China’s big game developers will also be exhibiting in the other B2C areas, and there should be quite a few interesting local PC games on show, as well.

ChinaJoy isn’t traditionally a show that features a ton of big game reveals; historically a big part of the show has been the cosplay and scantily-clad booth babes. But because of the impending next-gen console launches, especially the Xbox One’s scheduled September launch in China, this year’s ChinaJoy could be different as Chinese developers reveal some of the system’s new launch titles (most of which are reportedly from Chinese developers).
