Swiggy swallows up on-demand delivery startup (India). The Meituan Dianping-backed food delivery giant has acquired the reportedly cash-strapped Scootsy for US$7.29 million. The buyout will expand Swiggy’s network of restaurants in India while Scootsy – which delivers a range of products, including food, electronics, apparel, toys, and books – will continue to operate as an independent app. (Entrackr)
