A day in the life of ClassPass’ Asia expansion head

Claire Goodill and WeBarre co-founder Anabel Chew

Day in the Life is a series where personalities in the Asian tech community recount what they do on a typical day. Read more from the series here.

I’m Claire Goodill, the general manager of expansion for ClassPass in Asia.

I moved to Singapore this year from California to support our global expansion initiative. I launched our first international market in London, so I jumped on the opportunity to do it again. I relish the challenge of adapting a business model to new markets and the personal growth that comes from living overseas.

During my four and a half years at ClassPass, I’ve worked on new verticals for the business and was on the product and partnerships team. As the longest tenured employee at the company, I’ve been fortunate to work in almost every department, which enables me to see things from the perspectives of both our customers and partners.

Here’s a day in my life as we get ready for our Singapore launch.

7 am

I start every morning with a class, and I tend to like a really tough workout in the morning.

One of my favorite spots for an early morning workout is Haus Athletics. I live in Tanjong Pagar, so I can run there, which helps wake me up. What’s also rewarding about getting out of bed for a Haus workout is the free smoothie that follows.

So it’s sweat, smoothie, quick shower, and then on with my day.

9 am

At ClassPass, we have a strong network of brand partners, bloggers, and influencers. I tend to set up industry meetings and interviews earlier in the day because there is such a great “coffee culture” in Singapore (I can’t tell you how many times a day I get asked to grab a coffee).

Meeting with Reagan, founder of Haus Athletics

You can usually catch me at neighborhood spots Sarnies or Shop Wonderland, meeting with an apparel partner or chatting with our bloggers or influencers about their favorite classes, upcoming events, and content that we can collaborate on.

Midday

My team and I are always out and about at meetings, so I like to make sure we get face time for our one-on-ones.
