It has been 7 years since the debut of the world’s largest social network. Facebook has so far managed to get more than 650 million users on board and the number is still counting.
Facebook is growing at a rapid rate in Asia which houses more than 147 million users. If Facebook were a country, it would be the 5th most populated “nation” in Asia, only falling behind China, India, Indonesia & Pakistan.
About 22% of the total population on Facebook are from Asia with Indonesia (2nd) and India (5th) leading the front. Asia is also the third largest “Facebook continent”, only falling behind North America and Europe. All statistics are retrieved from SocialBakers.
Despite strong growth, there are countries where Facebook have yet to conquer. These countries include China, Japan, South Korea and Vietnam as shown in the infographic created by Ogilvy. Do note that countries like Hong Kong and Singapore with small population size are considered Facebook savvy. Hong Kong and Singapore has about 3.7 million and 2.2 million Facebook users, respectively.
