China’s eSports scene is as intense and pressure-packed as any other, but because of the emphasis Chinese culture places on not causing others to lose face, the negatives of the eSports scene don’t often come up in public. For this reason I was particularly interested when, in translating the latest episode of “Champion Spokesman” (the full subtitled video will be up tomorrow),I came across this clip where two pro players open up a little about abuse, criticism, and the effect that it can have.
In some ways, I think their expressions while the host is talking say as much as their actual words do, so be careful to pay attention to that.
