India’s beauty and personal care market is expected to hit US$30 billion by 2027. While the segment as a whole is thriving, beauty ecommerce penetration in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities suffers from long delivery periods as well as issues with product authenticity and quality.
BuyEazzy, a beauty ecommerce platform, aims to solve this by leveraging the trust between neighborhood store owners and consumers. The startup has raised over US$4.2 million in a series A round led by Info Edge Ventures, with participation from existing investors Incubate Fund Asia and M Venture Partners.
The company was co-founded by Rahul Aggarwal and Hariher B in 2021 and it has “an ambition to take ecommerce to the most remote corners of India,” said Aggarwal.
Through the platform, small neighborhood shops and salon owners can set up their own BuyEazzy online store within five minutes and start selling beauty and personal care products to their customers.
The startup claims that these neighborhood stores can grow their income by 40% to 50% by selling on its app.
BuyEazzy currently operates in 10 Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities in the southern Indian states of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. It plans to reach over 40 cities in the near future, catering to over 300 million consumers.
