Us2.ai automates complete echocardiography or heart ultrasound reports through its product, Us2.v1. The software, which has been cleared by the Food and Drug Administration, can analyze vendor images in under two minutes “with fully explainable measurements, editable annotations, and conclusions for every chamber of the heart,” said its CEO, James Hare.
According to the company, fully automated Us2.v1 measurements were shown to be completely interchangeable with the measurements taken by humans and were completely reproducible for a given patient study.
Hare founded the company in 2017 alongside Carolyn Lam, who is also a professor of cardiology at the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School.
The firm’s latest raise will go toward clinical implementation in the US, Europe, and Asia. It will also help Us2.ai connect with pharmaceutical companies, research labs, and imaging providers worldwide.
