B Capital co-leads $2.8m round of Indonesian personal finance app

Finku, an Indonesia-based personal finance app, has raised US$2.8 million in a seed round led by B Capital Group, Global Founders Capital, and Trihill Capital.

Founded last year, Finku allows users to track their transactions across several bank and e-wallet accounts and gives them real-time insights into their expense behavior. The app now has more than 350,000 registered users.

The company, which was admitted to Y Combinator’s most recent batch, was established by former BCG associates Reinaldo Tendean and Shyam Kalairajah, as well as Shylla Estee – who gained experience during her time at Indonesian unicorn Bukalapak.

Finku will use the fresh funding to accelerate its expansion across the country and hire more employees. It also aims to offer credit services to its users, leveraging data on spending history.
