I can’t believe we’re in the second half of 2025 already. It feels to me like it should be around April or so.

Still, time marches on, and deals keep being made. It’s easy to get caught up in the doom and gloom of all the tech winter news, but we have to keep moving forward and do so with our best efforts.

They certainly don’t seem discouraged at all in China. Besides having one of the top funding deals in this edition of the newsletter, the nation’s companies make up the majority in the overall list.

The biggest deals by country

🇮🇱 Cato Networks, a cybersecurity company, has raised US$359 million in its series G funding round, bringing its valuation to US$4.8 billion. The round was led by new investors Vitruvian Partners and Ion Crossover Partners, alongside existing investors including Lightspeed Venture Partners, Acrew Capital, and Adams Street Partners.

🇨🇳 Chinese artificial intelligence firm Zhipu AI has secured a US$137 million investment from Pudong Venture Capital and Zhangjiang Group. The investment involves collaboration between the three entities to develop advanced AI infrastructure.

🇮🇳 Jumbotail, a Bengaluru-based B2B marketplace, has raised US$120 million in a series D funding round led by SC Ventures, the investment arm of Standard Chartered. Existing investor Artal Asia also participated, bringing Jumbotail’s total funding to US$263 million.

🇸🇦 PetroApp, a Saudi-based digital fuel payment and fleet management platform, has raised US$50 million in a funding round led by Jadwa Investment through its GCC Diversified Private Equity Fund. Bunat Ventures also participated in this investment.
