Alibaba names new CFO, shuffles ecommerce leadership
Alibaba Group has announced that Toby Xu will replace Maggie Wu as its CFO on April 2022, Reuters reported.
Xu, who joined the company from PricewaterhouseCoopers three years ago, held the title of deputy chief financial officer since July 2019. After the change, Wu will continue to serve as an executive director on Alibaba’s board.
At the same time, Alibaba split its digital commerce division into two teams, which will separately be responsible for its international and domestic presence.
Jiang Fan, who previously led the company’s domestic ecommerce platforms Taobao and Tmall, will lead its international digital commerce business. He will oversee logistics service AliExpress, marketplace Alibaba.com, and Southeast Asian ecommerce platform Lazada.
Trudy Dai, who was Alibaba’s chief customer officer, will take over the domestic business – which accounts for two-thirds of the company’s revenue.
