According to a Livemint report, each video will be three to 15 minutes long and will be available within the Zomato app by September 16. There will be over 2,000 videos that would feature shows, recipes, and restaurant stories.

Video-form recipes and restaurant sneak peeks will be available worldwide, but Zomato Originals will only be up for streaming in India.

“We are constantly looking for new ways to engage our users around food. Most of our users visit our app several times a week,” said Zomato founder and CEO Deepinder Goyal in a statement. “This presents us with an opportunity to further delight our users using Zomato Originals.”

All of the Zomato Originals content will focus on food but will differ in formats such as comedy, reality, fiction, and celebrity interviews. Some of the shows slated for release include Banake Dikha with stand-up comic Sumukhi Suresh and Starry Meals with Janice, which would feature social media star Janice Sequeira.

Earlier this year, Zomato reported that its revenue soared to US$206 million for FY 2019, more than triple its US$68 million revenue in FY 2018. The company attributed the increase to the performance of its food delivery business.

The growth in revenue was also coupled with its increased expenses of US$500 million over the year, compared to US$80 million recorded in the previous year.
