Legaltech startup Lupl secures $14m as it gears up for its April launch
Legaltech startup Lupl said it has secured US$14 million in a recent funding round as it builds momentum for its launch this year, which is expected to happen in April.
The fundraise pushes the company’s overall funding past US$25 million, coming after its US$10 million raise before its beta launch, according to a statement.

Based in the US, Lupl offers a platform that collects information on people, conversations, documents, and relevant data for legal matters in one place. The company is being incubated by international law firms CMS, Cooley, and Rajah & Tann Asia, with support from an advisory board of 16 in-house lawyers from blue-chip firms.
It has been in global private beta testing since March of last year, claiming to represent over 10,000 lawyers in 100 jurisdictions. Lupl also says it currently has over 500 companies from more than 50 countries on its beta waitlist.
In addition to the new funding, Lupl announced it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Singapore’s Ministry of Law that would see the two entities advance the digitization of the city-state’s legal sector.
The company also disclosed its recent key appointments, including naming Jeff Green as its new CEO. Green joins Lupl after a 30-year career of providing consulting and technology services to law firms and legal departments.
The new chief exec will work alongside chief commercial officer Matt Pollins and Cheryl Wilson Griffin, who joins as Lupl’s new chief customer officer. By the end of the year, the company expects to have a team of over 75 people worldwide.
