Everything you wanted to know about China’s social media landscape in 2015 (INFOGRAPHIC)

The social media market in China can be confusing, because it changes fast. Just a few years ago, Renren was king of the social networking hill, but it has since been replaced by Weibo, which was itself then replaced by WeChat. And at the same time, the user demographics of China’s social media landscape have been shifting as smartphones find their way into virtually every pocket in the Middle Kingdom and more and more people start coming online.
So what does the social media landscape look like in 2015? After conducting a survey covering 100,000 people in 60 different Chinese cities, the folks at Kantar have created this massive infographic. The biggest takeaway, according to Kantar? Enthusiasm for social media in China is fading:
Chinese social media users are increasingly concerned with the impact social media is having on their lives, as the number of people who feel positive about social media has dropped by 12.1 percentage points from last year to 64.7%.
