India funding round-up: MedGenome Labs, JetSetGo, Fitternity

Over US$5 billion of venture capital funding flowed into Indian startups last year. This year, the deals are coming thicker and faster. So we thought it would be useful to start a daily digest of startup funding in India.

Here’s today’s funding round-up:

MedGenome Labs

Bangalore-based MedGenome Labs has raised US$20 million in its series B funding round from Sequoia Capital. The company uses DNA sequencing to conduct clinical genetic testing of complex diseases related to oncology, cardiology and ophthalmology. These tests enable doctors to assess the reaction of different medicines on different individuals. Sam Santhosh is the CEO of MedGenome.

 

JetSetGo

Delhi-based JetSetGo has raised an undisclosed amount from YouWeCan Ventures, the investment firm founded by cricketer Yuvraj Singh. JetSetGo is an online marketplace for private jets and helicopters. It was founded by in 2014 by Kanika Tekriwal and Sudheer Perla.

Fitternity

Fitternity has raised US$1 million from Exfinity Venture Partners. Mumbai-based Fitternity is an online marketplace and discovery platform for gyms, health clubs, fitness, dance, and yoga centers. It was founded in 2013 by Neha Motwani.
