Google is here in Indonesia – with its people and an office. Many Indonesians are looking forward to see what Google has planned for this country. So I decided to look a step ahead, into the heart of its Jakarta operations, to quench my curiosity.
A few weeks ago, I had a casual coffee session with Rudy Ramawy, the Google’s new head in Indonesia, to learn more. I can’t reveal much in writing here. It is definitely better to have Rudy explain his plans, onstage at our event, in his own words. I don’t want to leak any spoilers. Rudy will share his plans, to our delight, at Startup Asia Jakarta on June 7.
When the world’s biggest web company expands into such a massive country, it’s inevitably sgnificant for local users and the entire tech scene. It will be fundamental and very much needed for this nation, I believe. I will leave it to you to find out the details at our upcoming conference.
