Singapore and Malaysia qualifiers for Point Blank International Championship 2014 now open

Are you a Point Blank fan who wants to prove his or her worth to the world? Then you’ll want to be a part of the Point Blank International Championship (PBIC) this September. Held in Instanbul, Turkey, over September 27 and September 28, the PBIC will see 11 teams from ten countries face off for a prize pot of $50,000.

South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Philippines are the Asian countries participating, though based on the website’s presentation, it looks like Singapore and Malaysia must reignite old rivalries and fight for a single qualifying spot.

In view of that, local qualifiers for both the little red dot and its counterpart up north are already taking registrations. The Singapore qualifier for the PBIC will take place on July 26, though its location has yet to be confirmed. The Malaysia qualifier will take place a little later on August 2. You need to hold a valid work permit or student pass at the minimum in the respective country you want to play for.

These are not the only local qualifiers for the PBIC, and teams that fail to qualify the first time will be allowed to re-enter for subsequent qualifiers. Only the first place team of each qualifier will make it to a regional finals happening in September, although it is unclear if this is on top of the grand finals in Turkey. The winning team of the Singapore qualifier will receive S$500 ($400) in cash on top of 3,000 Garena shells and entry to the regional finals. The winning Malaysian team will receive RM$1,000 (about $315), 3,000 Garena shells, and entry to the regional finals. The first and second runner-ups will receive AUQ A3 Q guns of 15-day and seven-day durations respectively to be used in-game.
