BigPay, the digital banking unit of Capital A, has named Zubin Rada Krishnan as acting group CEO. He succeeded Salim Dhanani, who stepped down in February.

Krishnan, who previously served as BigPay’s Malaysia country head for nearly a year, will focus on enhancing customer services and collaborating more closely with super app AirAsia, according to a statement.

Prior to joining BigPay, he held leadership roles at the Boston Consulting Group, Tuas Capital Partners, and Hong Leong Bank.

Krishnan said he wants to expand BigPay’s footprint in Malaysia and launch the services in Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

BigPay said it currently has 1.3 million transacting and carded users and recently achieved 1 billion ringgit (US$224 million) in gross transaction value on its international remittance service.
