“ByteDance, the Beijing-based owner of Tiktok, plans to supercharge its online education unit with a hiring spree to recruit some 13,000 employees as the company seeks to diversify its revenue streams,” the South China Morning Post reported.
Details:
- The internet titan is looking to onboard 10,000 professionals who are already in the education workforce within the coming four months, as well as 3,000 fresh graduates who are set to be hired after the spring semester.
- ByteDance aims to fill positions such as teaching staff, development associates, product designers, and marketing executives across over 10 cities in China.
Context:
- Once completed, it would more than double the 10,000-strong team (as of December last year) of Dali Education, ByteDance’s edtech arm.
- The move would help Dali Education capture more of the local market, which also has players such as Tencent, Alibaba, and Baidu.
