Edtech firm BrightChamps makes new acquisition to enter B2B vertical

Edtech firm BrightChamps has acquired another Indian competitor, Metamorphosis Edu, in a cash and stock deal. The amount was undisclosed.

The deal is expected to help BrightChamps expand its learning offerings to schools globally.

BrightChamps, which is currently valued at US$650 million, was founded in 2020 by Ravi Bhushan and caters to the K-12 edtech segment. Its curriculum offers coding classes for children and deals with topics such as AI, robotics, and virtual reality.

This marks the company’s third acquisition after it bought Vietnamese startup Schola for US$15 million and Indian edtech firm Education10x both in 2022.

Meanwhile, Metamorphosis Edu has been delivering entrepreneurial education to Indian schools since 2020. It will now work under BrightChamps’s global B2B vertical led by Metamorphosis founder Pavan Allena and CFO Amit Kumar.

The goal is to make BrightChamps’ offerings accessible, localized, and affordable for schools worldwide. The B2B business will also include setting up the companies Next-Gen Lab within schools. The lab combines online and offline lessons to teach skills related to coding, robotics, financial literacy, and communications.

In 2022, BrightChamps said it would spend US$100 million to acquire companies across the US, the UK, India, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East and North Africa in the fiscal year ending March 2023.
