Bouncity, the Indonesian startup we first covered in June last year, has finally launched an iOS version of their app. It was released on Android back in November and it is officially available on all platform (Blackberry, Android, Mobile Web, iOS). You can check it out on the App Store today.
The app is looking even better on the iPhone with a beautiful interface, letting you see your friends and nearby challenges on a map just as with the Android version. Keep in mind however that the iPhone is not nearly as common as RIM’s Blackberry, so I don’t think this will result in any significant boost to their userbase.
Bouncity passed the 100,000 registered users mark just recently, with over 1,050,146 activities and 655,329 challenges completed, and 176,392 badges unlocked. So far they have 25 brands on board across more than 150 outlets.
It seems to me Foursquare usage is decreasing, and other location-based social networks such as Yahoo Koprol are seeing the same thing, I think Bouncity needs something bigger to boost its presence in Indonesia. Kevin Osmond, the COO of Bouncity, has hinted at a 2.0 version of Bouncity coming real soon, which will include new features and even a bit of pivot. We’re certainly looking forward to that!
