Location-Based Bouncity Launches: Ready for the Challenge?

Bouncity is a location-based gaming platform and is just one of the many great products developed by PhaseDev (WayangForce is also by these folks).

The founders of PhaseDev are Wenas Agusetiawan (CEO), Dimas Surya (CFO), Jeffry Anthony (CTO), and Kevin Osmond (COO).

Yesterday afternoon the team held a grand launch and press conference for its new location-based service, Bouncity, at @America, Pacific Place, Jakarta. I got a chance to interview Kevin Osmond and ask some questions regarding the service and his plans.

1. What is Bouncity?

Bouncity, which comes from the word bounty and city, is a location-based social gaming platform where users can go to their favorite places, do fun challenges and get awesome rewards.

2. How can bouncity compete with other location-based services like Koprol in Indonesia?

We are not competing with Koprol, because we have a totally different business model. We are here to disrupt the way business/brands promote themselves in digital media. Bouncity gives business/brands more options and new strategy for their digital and location-based campaign.

3. Bouncity has been touted as a SCVNGR clone with a more Indonesian touch.  Do you have thoughts on this?

Our team personally went to the US to use and experience SCVNGR first hand. From there, we knew that some parts needed to be worked out, and we are implementing it for Bouncity. Basically, we try to create a better location-based product.

4. What is the benefit for a merchant to use Bouncity instead of other promotion or marketing tools?

  • Deep Consumer Engagement

Merchants can provide challenges, more than just check-ins. They can ask a question, create a little survey or even a photo challenge. By doing so, they can have deeper engagement with their consumers which results in higher brand exposure & better brand experiences

  • Analytics & Insights

Merchants can access the reporting module, where they can use it as a way to measure efficiency and success of the campaign. The report provides data on Users in general as well as Challenges, Traffic and Social Media.
