Cocoon Capital leads seed round for Singapore-based medtech startup

Singapore-based medtech startup See-Mode Technologies received US$1 million seed financing in a round led by Cocoon Capital, with participation from SGInnovate and Australia-based Blackbird Ventures.

The startup plans to use the fresh capital to create a team of scientists and engineers and to collect clinical evidence to support the accuracy of its solutions.

Founded in 2017, See-Mode is a medical imaging company that leverages on a mix of computer vision, AI, and computational modeling. The firm aims to equip clinicians with the tools they need to accurately and efficiently predict and preemptively treat stroke.

“See-Mode can also objectively interpret ultrasound images and assess blood flow patterns in patients based on a routine CT scan or MRI,” said the company in a statement.

The startup is currently pilot testing its medical software suite in Singapore. “We are gathering further clinical evidence to validate the technology and obtain regulatory approvals needed for a commercial rollout,” says See-Mode co-founders Dr. Milad Mohammadzadeh and Dr. Sadaf Monajemi.

See-Mode has established several clinical collaborations in the city-state, including the National University Hospital, Changi General Hospital, and the National Neuroscience Institute of Singapore.

It also plans to start a multicenter clinical study with leading hospitals in Australia and the US.
