In a statement, the company said it will give affected staff the proper compensation according to local regulations. Its executives will also help employees by offering them career consultation.
According to CEO Alamanda Shantika, Binar plans to strengthen its core business, streamline operations, and optimize investment efforts.
The startup was founded by Shantika with fellow Gojek alumni Seto Lareno and Dita Aisyah in 2017. Binar offers a variety of learning programs such as bootcamps, employee training, and workshops. It also links bootcamp participants with companies through its Job Connect feature.
Binar said that its revenue in 2021 doubled from the previous year. It raised an undisclosed amount in a pre-series A funding round co-led by Teja Ventures and iGlobe Partners.
