The sales volume of Axie Infinity’s non-fungible token collection have jumped over 350% following the news of parent firm Sky Mavis raising US$150 million to reimburse users affected by the US$620 million hack on the Ronin Bridge, reported Forkast.
In the past 24 hours, the Axie NFT collection has ranked ninth on the CryptoSlam website, an NFT industry data aggregator.
The US$150 million funding round was led by Binance, along with Animoca Brands, Andreessen Horowitz, Dialectic, and Paradigm. Sky Mavis is also pumping an undisclosed amount from its balance sheets for the reimbursements.
The Ronin Bridge, the Ethereum sidechain of Axie Infinity, was hacked last week, which led to a theft of 173,600 ether and about US$25.5 million in USDC stablecoins. This amounts to around US$620 million, making it one of the the largest crypto hacks of all time.
