The Best Lee Sin in China tournament continues today with the start of the preliminaries. After a tryout period which saw thousands of Chinese League of Legends players duke it out across dozen of servers, only 112 remain.
Although we’re unable to verify the actual identity of these players, whose rankings range from silver to challenger, a few famous names pop up, including ClearLove of Edward Gaming and Ninja of World Elite.
Again, it could simply be fans using their name, but it’s definitely not strange to see professional players participate—even under smurf accounts—since the top prize is 30,000 RMB (approximately $4,833).
These 112 players will next square off in best-of-three single-elimination matches, which will take place on August 12 (today), and August 13, 14, and 17 at 5:30 P.M. China Standard Time (GMT +8). By the end of the week, only 56 blind monks will remain.
