Facebook Hits the Street to Promote a New Service in Japan

This afternoon there was quite a bit of buzz in the Japan Twitterverse about a mysterious Facebook display that was being erected in Tokyo’s Shibuya shopping district. Facebook has been trying to crack the Japanese market over the past few months, and seeing their reps ‘take the fight to the streets’ (so to speak) is interesting to see.

Here’s how this afternoon played out. Ironically most of this discussion comes via Twitter, which is already doing quite well in Japan.
