Located in the business hub of Gurgaon, Twigly promises to deliver global gourmet meals at the doorstep. It has a central kitchen that delivers “authentically prepared” food at prices that are 20-30 percent lower than those of regular restaurants. It claims to have notched up 500 customers already.
2. Sekai Lab | Japan (Startup Profile)
Founded in December 2013, Sekai Lab taps vetted engineering teams in affordable markets such as Vietnam, China, and Bangladesh make up the top three – to produce websites, apps, games, and other online services. It also provides translation and localization services to ensure that language barriers don’t get in the way.
3. EnTouch | Japan (Startup Profile)
EnTouch hires these highly-skilled drug reps directly and allows them to work from home with a workstation that includes a computer, webcam, phone, and backdrops with EnTouch and client logos. The startup also encourages professional women who have left the workforce after having children to join up, as their schedules tend to work with the very early or very late hours required to call doctors.
4. Cityflo | India (Startup Profile)
Cityflo is like an Uber for buses, offering an easy way to travel to work by allowing users to book seats on buses through an Android app.
5. Appier | Taiwan (Startup Profile)
Taiwan-based artificial intelligence (AI) startup Appier uses AI to provide insights on users’ cross-screen behavior. That means tracking how people use different devices for different purposes, at different times.
6. Rappler | Philippines (Startup Profile)
Philippine online news site Rappler is an all-digital news organization that uses technology and crowdsourcing to disrupt traditional news sites. It has a patented mood meter, which tracks the emotions elicited by its stories, and a mapping tool called Reach that shows how stories move through the community.
