1. Hiip | Vietnam (startup profile)
Hiip is a Vietnam-based startup that uses social data and algorithms to match brands and advertisers with the right influencers. The startup claims that it has registered more than a thousand influencers, with its bookings growing 50 percent month-on-month since its launch in April.
2. Ofo | China (startup profile)
Beijing-based startup Ofo is a bike sharing startup where users park their bikes wherever they want and use an app to find available bikes parked nearby. The startup’s services are targeted at university students.
3. Pet Widget | Singapore
Pet Widget has developed a NFC (Near-field communication) and QR code-enabled pet badge. By scanning a QR code shown on the badge, one can obtain the owner’s contact details, the pet’s allergies and medication needs. It’s free app can be linked with the badge to trace its last scanned locations. It also allows users to review pet-related businesses such as pet cafes and interact with one another.
4. Fotoplace | China (startup profile)
Fotoplace is a Shanghai-based startup comparable to Instagram. It launched a feature, widescreen mode which is a simple function that edits photos to make them look like shots from a widescreen film. In China, this also means adding subtitles. Fotoplace’s app contains a database of quotes from various sources: books, movies, songs – even internet memes.
5. Namshi | United Arab Emirates (startup profile)
Namshi is the Zalora equivalent for Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain. It operates in a region where consumers have large wads of disposable cash and are willing to shell out for premium goods.The startup is continuing to build relationships with brands so that its assortment is strong and products come online at the same time as they’re available in malls.
6. Postman | India (startup profile)
Postman is a Bangalore-headquartered startup that lets developers build, test, and share APIs. It provides free apps for Chrome, Mac, and Windows to build APIs. For cloud-based API access, there’s payment, and there’s also an enterprise option.
