Built to tackle the global problem of water depletion and waste management, Bakeys is the world’s first edible cutlery company. The company has its factory in the southern Indian city of Hyderabad, and uses three flours – rice, wheat, and sorghum – to make spoons in sweet, plain, and savory versions.
2. Sphere | Singapore
Sphere makes a point-of-sale (POS) system for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the F&B sector. It provides the software and the hardware for it, including table management software, a waiter app, a payment system, cloud storage, tablets, routers, receipt printers, and so on.
3. Docquity | India
Docquity is an invite-only professional network for doctors. The experiences shared through the app will be indexed, so every time a doctor needs critical information, he/she can access it seamlessly. They’ll have a trusted view of what other doctors have done in that situation.
4. Pouch | Singapore (Startup Profile)
Launched as a rewards platform in 2012, Pouch has evolved into a cashless payment and event management system. It introduced NFC (near field communication) wristbands that are becoming popular among event organizers.
5. Cowlar | Pakistan
Cowlar makes a tracking wearable for cows and buffaloes that claims to helps farmers increase milk yields by up to 15 percent.
6. Vinomofo | Australia (Startup Profile)
Australian wine website Vinomofo combines selling wine with a community, curation, and appreciation aspect. Before starting out as Vinomofo, the company was an online destination for wine enthusiasts to celebrate their favorite alcoholic beverage.
