Animoca Brands leads $24.3m series A of gaming metaverse firm
Untamed Planet, a gaming studio, has raised US$24.3 million in a series A round led by Animoca Brands, reported Forkast.
The studio also secured a partnership with nWay, Animoca’s video game arm.
Untamed Planet plans to create metaverse games that immerses players in virtual worlds featuring wild natural landscapes wherein NFTs can be collected. It will be using Solana for its first NFT series in an effort to conserve energy.
The gaming studio also said that it will donate half of the profits collected to charities and initiatives that support wildlife conservation.
The firm previously launched a Lego version of its game on Roblox, which attracted 30 million players. Proceeds from this game were donated to rangers protecting Congolese eastern lowland gorillas and funded the adoption of a black rhino calf in Kenya.
Untamed Planet announced on its website that it will be releasing its whitepaper in June.
