Tokopedia rebrands fulfillment services arm
Indonesian technology company Tokopedia announced the rebranding of its fulfillment services arm with the launch of Dilayani Tokopedia (or ”fulfilled by Tokopedia” in English).
The service, which was originally introduced in 2019 as TokoCabang, allows sellers to store their products in a portable network of smart warehouses located in high-demand areas. Through tie-ups with various logistics partners, Dilayani Tokopedia also takes care of receiving, packing, and shipping orders for sellers.

Sellers that use the platform have seen their average number of transactions nearly double, according to Erwin Dwi Saputra, Tokopedia’s associate vice president of fulfillment. For buyers, Dilayani Tokopedia offers priority service across Indonesia, giving quick access to a wide range of products and free shipping throughout the country. The delivery time is under four hours for intercity deliveries, while delivery to other cities takes 48 hours.
“It doesn’t matter if you’re a consumer in Medan or Makassar,” said Saputra in a previous interview with Tech in Asia. “Eventually, you should be seeing the same selection of products and be able to get these products at consistent speeds and reasonable costs.”
Dilayani Tokopedia has smart warehouses in Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Makassar, Medan, and Palembang, and it has plans to expand into other cities. Greater Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung, Medan, Semarang, and Yogyakarta were the regions that saw the highest number of transactions via its smart warehouse services last year.
Helping local merchants go regional
The launch of Dilayani Tokopedia comes as ecommerce firms in Indonesia increasingly focus on e-fulfillment.
There is also a growing pool of third-party players in the e-fulfillment space, offering platform-agnostic options for online sellers.

These fulfillment services are attracting swathes of users – and it’s not hard to see why. Aside from the pandemic pushing merchants to seek solutions to logistical challenges, services like Dilayani Tokopedia allow sellers to reach a much wider audience.
“We started out trying to help local farmers,” says Freddy Wijaya, co-founder of Pupuk Dinosaurus, an organic fertilizer producer that started out catering to the welfare of farmers in East Nusa Tenggara. Since it began using Dilayani Tokopedia in December 2020, Pupuk Dinosaurus’ revenue has “increased significantly” and its products are widely available across Indonesia’s different regions.
On Tokopedia’s part, Saputra says that the ecommerce unicorn will continue to help Indonesia’s sellers grow their businesses by providing “priority services” and boosting their competitiveness through Dilayani Tokopedia.
Tokopedia is an Indonesian tech company that runs the country’s leading online marketplace. Its mission is to democratize and empower commerce through technology for everyone everywhere.
