Indian agritech platform DeHaat buys food processing firm
DeHaat, an India-based agritech platform, has acquired foodtech firm Y-Cook India in an all-cash deal, The Economic Times reported.
Y-Cook India, a steamed produce processing and exporting company, will continue to operate independently under the leadership of its co-founder and CEO Janardhan Swahar.
While the size of the deal remains undisclosed, DeHaat plans to use the acquisition to link its farmers to Y-Cook’s market and customers.
Two of Y-Cook India’s investors, OikoCredit and 021 Capital, will exit through this transaction, while DeHaat investor Omnivore will swap its equity.
DeHaat offers technology-backed agriculture services to farmers, connecting them to sources of inputs like seeds and equipment as well as to potential buyers.

The buy follows DeHaat’s acquisition of farming marketplace Helicrofter earlier this year. The agritech platform raised US$115 million in a series D round led by Sofina and Lightrock in October 2021.
