Tribe, Algorand Foundation team up for Web3 push in Asia

Singapore-based Tribe, a government-backed blockchain accelerator, has entered into a strategic partnership with Algorand Foundation for a series of Web3 programs in Asia.

The team-up will see three core initiatives: learn and earn, hackathons, and resources and support.

Learn and earn will introduce developers to Algorand’s Web3 solutions builder with cash rewards up for grabs. Multiple hackathons will be organized in 2022, while both firms will jointly build a curated resource hub for learning materials.

The partnership looks to engage with 15,000 developers within the next 12 months, said Yi Ming Ng, co-founder and CEO of Tribe, adding that it aims to “create more solutions that will lead to mass adoption and spur innovation in this space.”

“The Algorand Foundation wants to ensure we are creating a developer-centric ecosystem, and we believe that our partnership with Tribe will help support this goal as developers go on this journey with us,” said Johanna Moran, head of developer outreach programs at Algorand Foundation. It was founded in 2019 and backs Web3 organizations through its ecosystem fund.

Meanwhile, Tribe connects startups and tech professionals through three programs: Tribe Academy for learning, Tribe Career for employment, and AngelHack for engagement.

The program, which is open to developers worldwide, starts in June, but users can get early access with the code “ALGOPILOT.”
