Xiaomi’s outgoing flagship phone sold 10 million units in 11 months

Xiaomi founder Lei Jun has just revealed that the startup phone-maker has sold 10 million of its Xiaomi Mi2 phones in the past 11 months.

The outgoing flagship first went on sale last October, and eventually split into the Xiaomi Mi2S (pictured above) and Mi2A models earlier this year. That 10 million number includes all those variants.

Xiaomi sold a grand total of 7.19 million phones in 2012, which was its first full year of operations. It’s aiming at 20 million for the whole of 2013. The company only sells its Android-based phones via official channels in mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
