The Covid-19 pandemic meant the rise of hybrid work, and subsequently, increased demand for SaaS solutions. Japan-based Josys, which was founded in 2021, is one of the many companies capitalizing on the shift.

The firm, started by Raksul founder Yasukane Matsumoto, runs a SaaS and device management platform for enterprise clients. Teams can access tools from vendors like Google, Amazon Web Services, and Microsoft all in one place, while companies can track how much they spend on these services on the back end.

Josys’ solution has attracted 300 customers, including Sony, Panasonic, Rakuten, and SoftBank. Matsumoto told Tech in Asia that Josys is earning “single-digit millions in US dollars” of annual recurring revenue.

It has also raised US$93 million in a series B funding round led by Global Brain and Globis Capital Partners.

Having achieved product-market fit in its home country, the company is set to scale its operations and include more mid-sized enterprises in its client mix.

In addition, it plans to use the funds to expand its product and engineering team, scale its go-to-market strategy, and grow its presence in the US and Asia Pacific.

Besides Japan, the company also has employees in India, Singapore, Vietnam, and the US. Matsumoto told Tech in Asia that Josys plans to double the current 120 headcount by the end of this year, focusing its hiring in countries like Singapore and Indonesia.

Eventually, Josys looks to help companies manage the lifecycle of their devices, like laptops and mobile phones, on an outsourcing basis. This will cover purchasing, configuration, shipping, repairing, and storage.

While Matsumoto didn’t disclose specific financial figures, he shared that the firm has “laid a strong foundation” for it to hit profitability “in the near future.” Revenues have also increased 10x since its previous fundraise – a US$32 million series A round in September 2022.
