14 Startups in Asia That Caught Our Eye

This week, we have a bunch of inspiring founder stories from Singapore and South Korea, as well as investment news from a number of startups! 1. CodeToki | Philippines

Codetoki is an achievement-based and game-like platform that aids fellow graduates in finding employment, by specifically matching applicants to the most suitable employers, and making them visible to future employers.


2. Dreadout | Indonesia

Developed by Badung-based Digital Happiness, Dreadout is a horror PC game that is receiving quite a bit of publicity both in Indonesia and globally.


3. Crowdbaron | Hong Kong

Crowdbaron wants to help make investing in real estate as simple as booking a hotel online. Folks who want to bolster their personal investment portfolio, the idea is that buying a small stake in one or numerous properties lets you take advantage of surging property prices in several countries.


4. Camera360 | China

Sichuan-based popular photo filter app Camera360 has announced this week that it accumulated 100 million global users across its three versions for iPhone, Android, and Windows Phone. Camera360 is now in talks with a number of smartphone manufacturers to have its filters pre installed in some new phones.


5. Foodpanda | Asia

Launched in April 2012, Rocket Internet’s Foodpanda is an Asia-based food delivery startup that takes orders online from over 5,000 partner restaurants in nine Asian countries and employs 150 staff. It announced this week that it has grabbed another major round of funding from Sweden’s AB Kinnevik, Russia’s Phenomen Ventures, and several other unnamed investors.


6. Ticket Solutions | Indonesia

Launched in August 2012, Ticket Solutions’s Android app ‘Indonesia Flight’ enables its users to compare and book domestic flights in real time. The company revealed that it is now generating revenue of over IDR 4 billion ($400,000) every month using the ticket booking platform Tiket’s API, and has also released an iOS version of ‘Indonesia Flight’ this week.
