Nintendo Switch 2 priced over $400, expected to sell strong

Nintendo’s upcoming console, the Switch 2, is generating considerable anticipation in the gaming industry. Analysts predict strong initial sales for the device, even with a higher price point than its predecessor.

The console may retail for US$400 or more due to increased production costs, including an upgraded Nvidia chip estimated at US$130 to US$150 per unit.

Popular franchises like Mario Kart, Pokémon, and Metroid Prime are expected to launch with the console, along with third-party titles such as Call of Duty.

The Switch 2 will compete with PlayStation 5 but offer backward compatibility with existing Switch games.

Nintendo will reveal more details in an online presentation on Apr. 2.
