Nintendo cuts annual profit forecasts, plans new console
Nintendo has reduced its operating profit forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2025 by 10%.
It now expects 360 billion yen (US$2.36 billion), which is lower than analyst expectations of 391.4 billion yen.
Sales of the Switch console dropped, with 4.7 million units sold in the first half of the current financial year. This is a decrease from 6.8 million in the same period last year.
President Shuntaro Furukawa announced plans for a new console this financial year, but no details were shared.
