Intel Corporation announced in its recent earnings call that it has received US$2.2 billion in federal grants through the US CHIPS and Science Act.

This funding was provided in two payments: US$1.1 billion at the end of 2024 and another US$1.1 billion in January 2025.

An additional US$5.66 billion in funding remains to be released.

This will contribute to a total of US$7.86 billion allocated under the CHIPS Act last November, which is lower than the initial estimate of US$8.5 billion.

The company plans to use these funds to improve semiconductor manufacturing and packaging capabilities at its sites in Arizona, New Mexico, Ohio, and Oregon.

This includes integrating multiple semiconductor chips into single packages, which is a significant goal for Intel.
