Intel set to report Q4 earnings as shares drop
Intel is set to report its quarterly earnings on Jan. 30, with investors seeking clarity on its leadership strategy and recovery plans amid declining revenue.
Intel’s shares have dropped 60% over the past year, reducing its market capitalization to around US$85 billion.
Analysts predict a 10.4% decline in fourth-quarter revenue, with a total of US$13.81 billion and reduced gross margins of 39.4%.
Revenue from the datacenter division is expected to decrease by over 15%, marking the eleventh consecutive quarter of decline.
Intel faces high manufacturing costs and stiff competition from AMD and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), a leader in advanced chip production.
Additionally, cloud operators like Microsoft are shifting to AI-specialized chips, further complicating Intel’s prospects.
The chipmaker also recently removed CEO Pat Gelsinger and is now led by interim co-CEOs Michelle Johnston Holthaus and David Zinsner.
