Foxconn to invest $900m in AI server plant in Mexico
Foxconn, officially known as Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., plans to complete a significant AI server manufacturing plant in Jalisco, Mexico, within a year.
According to Jalisco Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro, the Taiwanese tech company is investing approximately US$900 million in the project, which aims to be the largest assembly plant in the world for servers using Nvidia’s GB200 AI chips.
The development will occur in two phases: the expansion of an existing Foxconn facility in El Salto and the construction of a new plant in the same area.
The plant is projected to open by late 2025 or early 2026.
