In brief: Zomato lays off around 100 employees
- Food delivery and restaurant discovery platform Zomato has laid off around 70 to 100 employees in its Gurgaon-based customer support team in efforts to cut costs and reduce redundancies, said three people aware of the matter, Mint reported.
- Zomato confirmed the development, saying that “the percentage of orders requiring support have come down significantly, creating a small number of redundancies for 1.2% of our workforce.”
- It’s not known whether employees were paid severance in advance.
