Current Zilingo CFO leads head chief race (Updated)
Update (Apr. 20, 5:15 p.m. SGT): This article was updated with information from a Zilingo executive.
Ramesh Bafna, Zilingo’s current CFO, is poised to become the B2B ecommerce firm’s interim CEO, reported The Economic Times citing sources familiar with the matter.
The former Myntra executive and Flipkart finance head could take the top post from Ankiti Bose, who is currently suspended until May 5 this year due to alleged accounting irregularities.
This, however, is just one of many possibilities, as Bose could still return depending on the investigation’s outcome, a senior Zilingo executive told Tech in Asia on condition of anonymity. He said that reading the news of Bafna’s potential promotion was a “surprise,” though adding that he was not privy to board discussions.
Bafna is said to be negotiating terms regarding the appointment. He is also currently involved in the Bose probe.
Bose has called the investigation and her suspension a “witch hunt” and said the moves were retaliation for a harassment complaint she lobbed against an investor, said The Economic Times in an earlier report.
