The startup had raised US$550,000 in a pre-seed funding round led by Better Capital in September 2021.
Kolo was founded in 2020 by former Gojek employees Jery Althaf, Pranav Garg, Aayush Sharda, and Vivek Mittal. It aims to connect homeowners and providers of construction services and materials for building projects.
The startup allows users to discover interior design ideas, search for specific home designs and house plans, and link up with professionals. For professionals, Kolo helps them create a digital portfolio, share their work with homeowners and others in their field, and earn opportunities.
Kolo’s platform is available through a mobile app, which is currently available on Google’s Play Store and has been downloaded more than 1 million times. An iOS version is also in the works.

The company said that its services have expanded to three more states in India after debuting in Kerala. Its monthly active user base has increased 10x since its last funding round.
Kolo aims to use the new investment to widen its presence in India as well as improve its content recommendation engine and other products, among other initiatives.
