Other investors that participated in the round include Delphi Digital, Dragonfly Capital, Yield Guild Games, BreederDAO, and Akatsuki.
The funds will go toward developing software, hiring staff, and securing telco providers as partners, the company said in a statement.
Founded by Ash Mandhyan, Jake San Diego, and JC Velasquez, MetaverseGo aims to provide access to Web3 games without the need to understand cryptocurrencies.
“MetaverseGo is solving this by making Web3 games accessible via a technology that everyone knows how to use: a mobile phone number,” said Mandhyan, who also serves as the company’s CEO.
Currently, MetaverseGo credits – which can be earned by playing NFT games on its platform – can be spent on mobile data, utility bills, and shopping vouchers, among other uses.
