It was about 14 months ago that Koprol was acquired by Yahoo. And since then, the location-based service has seen its user growth rate increase 20 fold.
The Koprol team is now located at the new Yahoo Indonesia office at Sentra Senayan 2, Jakarta, where they held a press conference for the anniversary yesterday afternoon. Pontus Sonnerstedt, Country Manager for Yahoo Indonesia, started off the event by providing several insights about Yahoo Indonesia.
Yahoo! and Indonesia

Sonnerstedt says that Yahoo! sees huge potential in Indonesia and has specifically catered to the local market by launching Yahoo OMG, Yahoo News, Yahoo Travel and more. The Koprol acquisition has become a local success story, which all local tech enthusiasts talk about, including Indonesia’s President.
Yahoo believes that consistent innovation in products is a key factor that will boost technology growth in every market. For its part, Yahoo ensures that Koprol’s services help users to socialize and interact on its platform better.
Satya Witoelar, co-founder of the location-based service, continued the event by sharing more info about his product.
Koprol and Indonesia

Yahoo Koprol has grown rapidly over the past year and has now attracted more than 1.5 million users and 3,000 business profiles ever since its new business feature was announced earlier this year.
Rockto, one of Indonesia’s many start-ups, has been reaping the benefits of Koprol, with over a 50 percent increase in pageviews.
