Xiaomi releases all-metal Mi4S, and pink version ‘just for girls’

In addition to launching its new Mi5 flagship today, Xiaomi has also dropped an updated all-metal version of its popular Mi4 phone.

The Mi4S, while not the main attraction at today’s event, is certainly nothing to scoff at. The phone features a 5-inch screen, surrounded by a metal body with a shape reminiscent of the iPhone 6, but with the notable addition of a rear-placed fingerprint reader. And the 64GB version is going for just US$260.It’s available in white, black, gold, and – sigh – a lavender version “specifically for girls,” according to a post on Xiaomi’s official Weibo account. The phone is set to ship on March 1.
