Maplestory SEA celebrated its ninth anniversary in Southeast Asia over the weekend, and an estimated 2,000 Maplestory SEA players descended on Bugis+ mall in Singapore, where the celebrations were being held.
Along with various on-site activities such as a do-it-yourself pouch booth and an in-game jump challenge, attendees were also able to purchase items such as master 9th anniversary shoes, reset packages, and extra large watermelon punch chairs.
They also bore witness to the official launch of the Zero class for Maplestory SEA, and were able to enjoy a cake-cutting ceremony on Sunday. Check out this video of the launch!

“We wanted to do something bigger this year as Red is a highly anticipated update and the launch period is around the same time as the MapleSEA anniversary,” said Ian Purnomo, marketing communications manager of Asiasoft Online Pte. Ltd., referring to the recently announced Red update for the Southeast Asian version of the game.

Purnomo said that while it was unfortunate that the Nexon team was unable to attend tis year’s event (it paid Singapore a visit last year!), it was “really great” to meet Maplestory SEA players, and that the event went well, thanks to all the players who came down to support it.
