World of Warcraft's level 90 boost goes live in China for just $25

You may recall that after the announcement of World of Warcraft‘s straight-to-90 level boost in-game purchase last month, many Chinese gamers were concerned about the price. At $60, it seemed pretty steep. But it turns out they needn’t have worried; the boost has been rolled out in China, and on the Chinese servers it costs a lot less.

On mainland Chinese servers, the level-90 boost costs 150 RMB, or about $24.50. That’s a price many Chinese gamers can accept, according to a poll on 17173, even if it is still more expensive than hiring someone on Taobao to power-level your character for you.

Players on the game’s Taiwan servers are also getting a better deal, as the boost there will cost 1800 Battle.net points, or about $48. However, between now and April 10, Taiwan-based players can grab the boost and get three months’ subscription (about $36) for free. That makes the boost a pretty good deal for players on Taiwan’s servers, so long as they were planning to subscribe for three more months anyway.
